Congratulate them!     Chinese New Year Celebration The Otomotif College, Feb 4, 2009 – TOC students and staffs celebrated Chinese New Year. “Lou Shang”, Lion dance & colour red were the main attraction to welcome the “Bull” year. May prosperity & good fortune follow TOC for years to come!     Sport Barn Futsal Tournament Sport Barn, March 4,2009 – TOC Warrior Futsal Club sent 2 teams to participate in the Sport Barn inter-college Futsal Tournament. Among 22 teams, TOC won the 4th place in the tournament! Good job team!     F1 Fun Kart Event Sepang International Circuit, Apr 2, 2009 – 10 TOC students participated in the F1 Fun Kart Event in conjunction with the F1 Championship. 120 students from different colleges race against each other in the qualifying round and the 6 finalist raced with the F1 drivers. TOC Student Umar Medi won the overall 2nd place in the race. Congratulations to him!     TOC students at Alfa Romeo Launch Sime Darby Auto Connexion Sdn Bhd, May 8 & 9, 2009 - Six lucky TOC students were presented with a golden learning opportunity when they were picked to give a helping hand at the recent launch of new Alfa Romeo models. These six students assumed the role of mechanic trainee, where they assisted the mechanic in 25 check points during the launch. Besides receiving premium items as a token of appreciation, the students were ecstatic when the company offered them a spot for internship due to their excellent performance and skills.   TOC’s Students Go The AFOS Way! Sepang, May 31, 2009 – 11 TOC’s students were thrilled when they were invited to the Asian Festival of Speed, a premier Asian motorsport event that has regional and international recognition. The students were given a pit garage tour by Matthijs Hoitink, Series Manager of Formula V6 Asia, and they were also introduced and briefed on the anatomy of the Formula V6 Asia race car.     A Visit to Super GT International Sepang, June 21, 2009  – A group of 43 TOC Motorsports Club members paid a visit to Super GT International Series 2009 at the Sepang International Circuit. The entrance tickets were sponsored by SIC under their “Bringing Motorsports to School” programme.   TOC 2nd Graduation Ceremony Hotel Nikko KL,  June 28, 2009 – A1 Team Malaysia Commercial Director, Owen Leed, represented the team at last weekend’s TOC (The Otomotif College) graduation ceremony, presenting certificates to 120 students and special awards to five outstanding achievers. The Otomotif College has been a long standing commercial partner of A1 Team Malaysia, with the team being supported by this specialist automotive training college since 2006.   Shell Eco-Marathon Curtain Raiser Sepang, July 16, 2009  – TOC was invited to the launch of Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2010 Curtain Raiser, and it was an eye opening experience as we get a sneak peak on 5 selected student teams from Malaysia and Singapore, where they drove specially built energy efficient cars around Sepang International Circuit's north track. Two groups of TOC students are targeting to enter both the categories, and they are now in the midst of brainstorming, sourcing for funds, researching and developing the vehicles Click here to view a short clip.   M-150 Speed Race Tournament TOC, July 30 , 2009 – TOC students had a blast racing with each other as well as themselves when a new energy drink in the Malaysia market, M-150, came over to TOC to conduct its roadshow. M-150 originated from Thailand, where it has been one of the most popular energy drink in Thailand. One TOC student, Amir Farhan, managed to beat the current fastest time and he became the reigning champion!   An Exclusive Visit To HMRT Alor Gajah,  August 3, 2009 – 40 TOC students and lecturers received a rare opportunity to visit the Honda Malaysia Racing Team (HMRT) as well as a guided tour around the Honda Malaysia manufacturing plant in Alor Gajah. TOC students witnessed the HMRT Car 27 in close view and were able to get information from the personnel on how to check and tweak the car before a race.   TOC Student Wins MVP Award The Curve, August 5, 2009 – It was an honour when we received an SMS from the organizer of Campus Dodgeball League, informing us that one of the player from TOC Velocity Team, Darrel Khar had won the Most Valuable Player - Best Dodger Award. Let’s hope that TOC Velocity Team would keep up their fighting spirits and give good performance every time!   TOC Go-Kart Tournament 2009 Shah Alam, 4 October, 2009 – 40 students and staff took part in the TOC Go-Kart Tournament 2009, which was held in Shah Alah Go-Kart Circuit. The TeleVAS Racing Team was there too to select potential drivers to join their team. At the end of the race, 6 students were selected by TeleVAS to advance to the next round of elimination, and there will be a guaranteed spot for one of them!   JPM Berjaya Hills Time Challenge Bukit Tinggi, 9-10 October, 2009 – 40 students were a part of the crew members for the grand event titled JPM Berjaya Hills Time Challenge 2009. More than 100 supercars were spotted gathered for the event and it was definitely an eye-opening experiences for these 40 students. Click here to view a short clip on what the students experienced throughout the whole event.   PLUS Yamaha SL Cup (Malaysian Series) 2010 Sepang Go Kart International Circuit, March 28, 2010 – TOC trainers and students gave technical support to IRU1 Racing Team during their participation at the first round of PLUS Yamaha SL Cup. TOC also sponsored chassis and engine for one of the racer, Muhammad Hiqmar Danial.   2010 Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix 2010 Sepang International Circuit, April 3-4, 2010 – 80 TOC students help out at the recent Petronas F1 GP.  The students were assigned to different duties on this two-day event, and 10 lucky students got the opportunity of a lifetime when they were selected to work at the pit lane!
